Day Trips From Las Vegas
Las Vegas as most people know is a world class vacation destination. With it’s luxury hotels, fine dining, top tier entertainment and gaming what more could anyone want? Perhaps a break from the hustle and bustle, all the people and the noise?
Well you do have options. Las Vegas is centrally located in the desert of the Southwestern United States. There are many incredibly beautiful and diverse destinations that are within driving distance. Three National Parks, State Parks, National Forests, Conservation Areas and more await those who chose to venture off the Strip for a day trip or overnight getaway.
The Grand Canyon is only a few hours drive. A must “see once in your lifetime” destination. You can park and walk along the rim. Take a ranger guided tour. Hike down into the Canyon or just sit on the rim and be mesmerized by the sheer size and beauty of it.
The other two National Parks are Zion and Death Valley. Both have much beauty and diversity to offer those who chose to go.
Lake Mead and Hoover Dam are less than an hour outside of Las Vegas. Hoover Dam is an engineering marvel. Take a tour inside the Dam and find out how it was made. Lake Mead is the Reservoir made by Hoover Dam. It is the largest reservoir in the U.S. An oasis of watery fun in the desert. Boating, Fishing, Swimming and more await.
If Museums interest you, there are several to choose from that you won’t find anywhere else including: The Pinball Hall of Fame, The Liberace Museum, The Atomic Testing Museum among others.
Do you believe in Aliens? Well the Extraterrestrial Highway and Area 51 are an interesting day trip. There is also a beautiful NASCAR Racetrack, a Winery, a Chocolate Factory Tour among a long list of other sites to see.
So when you are planning your trip to Las Vegas, make sure you pencil in getting out and exploring a little bit. With so many destinations within driving distance it’s easy to make some awesome memories.
