One Person With A Vision Can Change The World
Think you cannot change the world, then think again because you can. I was driving from school the other day and listening to the radio and the announcer stated, one person with a vision can change the world.
I agree with the show host because a lot of people with a vision have, are and will change the world because the vision moves them to action. Case in point, when Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat on the bus so a white person could sit there, she had a vision of people from her community being able to get on a bus and sit wherever they wanted to sit.
Rosa Parks vision for respect, dignity and equality changed the world and set the Civil Rights Movement on a course with destiny. Without the courage strength and vision of Rosa Parks, likelihood is America would not be the leader of the free world because it is hard to say the land of liberty and freedom, when some of the people living in the country were being discriminated against.
So do you think one person with a vision can change the world? We can mutually agree the answer is yes. Another example of one person with a vision can change the world involves Nelson Mandela.
Nelson Mandela is one of my personal heroes, a man I admire for his courage of conviction. Nelson Mandela was physically imprisoned by the South African government for threats against the whites. The threat was based on blacks who were the aboriginal people of South Africa were being discriminated against in what was called apartheid.
Mind you, earlier I mentioned Nelson Mandela was imprisoned physically, however mentally he was as free as any man on planet earth. Why? Mandela had a vision that some day all Africans would be free, have liberty and live and be treated with dignity like all human beings.
Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 27 years, wow that is a long time but this is not the end of the story because his vision prevailed. After years of political pressure, protest and white African realization that what they were doing to Nelson Mandela and others was not right and would not hold up anymore.
When it was announced that Nelson Mandela and other freedom fighters of the African National Congress were released from prison, the world changed. Nelson Mandela went on to become President of South Africa which in my view, is one of the most remarkable feats in the history of the world.
One person with a vision can truly change the world and so can you. My question to you is, what is your vision and when are you ready to change the world?
Take some time out of your schedule to assess what your vision is and get into motion, the world is waiting for your contributions. We can all change the world as long as we have a vision, start the process today.
